Attended practice this morning and have 4 or 5 thoughts as well as some lineup changes.
- Thought it was odd they had 3 goalies at practice. Came home and saw that Joe Fallon has been sent to Las Vegas. Good luck to Joe. It sure is nice having an AHL quality goalie waiting in the wings in case of injury or ineffectiveness. We haven't had that luxury in some time now.
-Speaking of goalies, Climie and Fallon split reps at one end and Al Montoya took all the reps at the other end. Read into it what you will. Like I said, I'm out of the speculating business.
-Picard is back to full strength and out of the yellow jersey. He was seeing most of his ice time with Stapleton and Tikhonov. More on that to come.
-Still no Watkins, Brine, or Weston. All were seen in the cardio room, but none saw the ice.
-Lot of teaching today from Coach. Team seems to be responding to him well. A couple of times he would explain a drill wrong and one of the vets (Hollweg or Yonkman) would correct him.
-Coach let MacLean have it pretty good once when Brett quit on a drill. Stafford made him look silly behind the net and he gave up on the play. Ray was none too happy and stopped practice to point it out. Next time through, MacLean was playing hard and working through it.
Here were the pairings and lines:
Picard-Stapleton-Tikhonov
MacLean-Ebbett-Boedker
Hollweg-Kearns-Beaudoin
Lunden-Collins-Neilson
Pope would rotate in with the 4th line guys and MacArthur would rotate in on the 3rd line.
Yonkman-Summers
Stafford-Goncharov
Brodeur-May
Ahnelov-Stone
No updates tomorrow as I have a busy day, practice is closed, and I don't anticipate too much changing between now and Friday. See you all at the rink!
LET'S GO RAMPAGE!!
