The Rampage host Rockford for the second consecutive night after defeating the Hogs 1-0 in a hard fought, back and forth affair last night. Alex Picard scored the lone goal on a picture perfect tip of a beautiful centering pass by Matt Beaudoin midway through the 3rd period. Both goalies (Climie and Alec Richards) were outstanding and it was a shame one of them had to lose. BOXSCORE

According to Dan Weiss on the postgame, Rampage defensemen Cgris Summers and Michael Stone each played over 30 minutes last night. What was once a position of depth and strength has been decimated by injuries and callups. AHL leader for scoring among defenseman, Garrett Stafford was called up to Phoenix yesterday while veterans Nolan Yonkman and Jonas Ahnelov are battling injuries and aren't expected back until Sunday at the earliest. To make matters worse, Jeff May hobbled off the ice during the 2nd period and would not return.

Luckily, for us Rampage fans anyway, the Coyotes have sent help as rookie defenseman, and 6th overall pick in the 2009 draft, Oliver Ekman-Larsson has been assigned to the Rampage. He should play tonight and give the blueline a much needed boost.

A full breakdown of the Rockford series will be posted sometime Saturday.

Tonight is another KISS FM "Dollar Drink Night", so bring the rowdies out and cheer on the best team in the West. See you at the rink and LET'S GO RAMPAGE!!

  1. I could have sworn I saw Jeff back on the ice in the 3rd... Pretty excited about OEL coming down...
