Two struggling teams take to the ice tonight in San Antonio as the Rampage face the Griffins. Both teams are 4-6 in their last 10 and are coming off losses from last weekend. The Rampage lost to the Aeros 3-1 behind a solid bounceback effort from goalie Matt Hackett. Ryan Hollweg would get the lone Rampage goal and Al Montoya would take the hard luck loss. Al played well. He just had no offensive support and Houston made the Rampage pay on two costly defensive mistakes.

The Rampage swept a 2 game road set vs these Griffins back in December winning 6-3 and 3-2 in OT. This will be Grand Rapids' 1st visit to the ATT Center this season, so expect the Red Wings jerseys to be out in force. For the record, I am a giant Red Wings mark, but even I can't cheer for the Griffins against my beloved Rampage.

News and Notes

-  All indications are that Petr Prucha has signed a deal with SKA St. Petersburg in the KHL. No official press releases, but it's all over the internet.

-  Earlier this week, the Phoenix Coyotes traded disgruntled forward, Wojtek Wolski, to the NY Rangers for defenseman, Michal Roszival. This leaves the Coyotes with one too many defenseman and one too few forwards. I expect a couple of transactions to remedy this. If I were a betting man, I'd say Boedker goes up and Schlemko comes down. But I'm not, so let's just leave that alone...

-  Brett MacLean and Garrett Stafford were selected to the 2011 AHL All Star game in Hershey. Both well deserved. Stafford will get the start. Something tells me we won't see Brett in the "Fastest Skater" competition.

-  Injury updates!  Picard is still out. No timetable on his return. May, Lunden, and Tikhonov are all skating at practice and could be back soon. Matt Beaudoin is still not skating, but is expected to start doing so next week.

-  Blair Riley was released from his PTO and has headed back to Las Vegas, where he promptly scored 2 goals and added an assist in a Wranglers win last night.

Tonight is All You Can Eat Night. So bring the family out and gorge yourself on stadium food! See you at the rink and LET'S GO RAMPAGE!!!
