The Rampage travel 3 hours down IH-10E for the first road test of the season against division rival Houston. The Rampage are coming off a loss to OKC last night, where the home team outplayed the Barons for the better part or 45 minutes. Unfortunately, in thos other 15 minutes, the Barons scored 3 goals. For the second consecutive game to start the season, the Rampage struggled on the power play, including another extended 5 on 3 that led to nary a scoring chance. The team is now 1-12 with the man advantage on the season. The scary part is, the team is appreciably better on even strength, showing long periods where they completely dominated play. Meanwhile, on the PP, the team looks out of sync, unconfident, and tentative.

Last night, the Rampage got outworked by a far less talented team. This can't happen. We are used to being the less talented team that works hard. I'm hoping it's just an unfamiliarity issue and that a couple more weeks of playing together will fix what's ailing them. If they can't, this will be a long season.

Good luck to the boys tonight in enemy territory. LETS GO RAMPAGE!!

  1. Their special teams look pathetic last night, OKC showed us how to kill a 5 on 3. When we had to kill one, our guys were basically laying on the ice. There is no muscle on this team, I've seen less turtling at the Zoo. Yonkman should NEVER drop the gloves again. This team is missing a Ryan Holloweg type of player.
