10/15 Post game vs Peoria

One word. Suck.


There is zero excuses at this point. The Rampage out shot the Rivermen 44-20 and lost 6-2. Yes, I know Ben Bishop is good. But even Ben Franklin could have stopped the majority of the shots put on net last night. And he's been dead for 220 years. I would venture a guess that 35 of those shots were weak attempts or shots right into Bishop's Rivermen logo.

-Montoya was beyond terrible. At one point, the Rivermen had 4 goals on 10 shots. 2 of those goals came on centering attempts from the corner that went in off Al's skates. He's got to do a better job of protecting that post. He also showed zero ability to move laterally. On 2 of the goals, the Rivermen skater just put a half-hearted deke on, slid across and put the puck into the empty net.

- Tikhonov has been invisible offensively. Been pretty good on the PK and defensively though, so as long as that keeps up, I won't complain too much.

-Stapleton, on the other hand, has been invisible. Period. I'm hoping it's nothing more than an adjustment period, but man he looks disinterested and unmotivated. If the pass isn't right to his stick, I see very little effort from him. And he needs to shoot. I know he is centering a line with some scorers, but when he has the shot in the slot, he needs to put it on net.

-Not sure who committed the defensive breakdowns on the 2 breakaways, but it needs to stop. They can't keep leaving their goalies out to dry like that.

-Good to see MacLean get on the scoresheet finally. Especially since about 50 seconds before his goal, he whiffed on a wide open net with no one around him.

- Rowdies...I love you guys. I really do. But the Spina hate was a bit much. He's not a traitor if the team had no intentions of signing him to any deal whatsoever.

- Just a terrible game overall. But we move on. They have 2 more games this weekend, and they need to put this debacle behind them play better.
