The Rampage return home after a typical "let down" game, losing in Houston Friday night by a score of 5-3 (Box). The score was 3-0, with Casey Wellman scoring all 3 goals before the Rampage could find any kind of rhythm. Matt Climie would be pulled with about 5 minutes left in the 2nd period after surrendering his 5th goal on 24 shots. Joe Fallon would come in and was relatively untested in his 24+ minutes of play facing just 4 shots and saving them all.
Brett MacLean would score his team leading 13th and 14th goals in the losing effort. In the very very bad news department, Aeros blogger and twitter friend, @msconduct10 informed me last night that Matt Beaudoin only played a couple of shifts and was seen in a walking boot after the game. This would be a huge blow to the Rampage's offense if he were to miss any extended time.
Tonight the Rampage face the Manitoba Moose. The Moose have a ton of talent that just isn't translating to wins right now. They are dead last in the league in PP conversions and are having trouble scoring with any consistency. Former long time Rampage player Joel Perrault and 11 game "cup of coffee" Rampage player Lee Sweatt will be suiting up for the bad guys tonight. Game time is 7pm sharp from the ATT Center. Come out and support the guys as they return home from the long road trip. Stay after and bid on the Salute to the Badges custom jersey that I highlighted in yesterdays game preview. It's for a good cause and the auctions are a good chance to see your favorite Rampage players up close and personal.
See you at the rink and LET'S GO RAMPAGE!!!
Edit: In a couple of game related transactions, the Rampage have called up Nick Ross from Las Vegas and Manitoba has signed another former Rampage player, Garth Murray, to a PTO.
Hoping for a solid win tonight...See you at the game.
