The Rampage travel to Peoria to face the Rivermen this evening hoping to snap a 3 game losing streak and maintain sole possession of first place in the Division. The Rampage are 2-1 vs Peoria this season including a 3-1 win in Peoria on November 17th. Rampage goaltender Al Montoya has faced the Rivermen in all 3 contests this season and is expected to be in net again tonight for the Rampage. He will face off against red hot rookie Jake Allen who leads the AHL in GAA, Save %, and shutouts.
The Rampage will get Mikkel Boedker back in the lineup tonight after a 2 week stint with the parent club Coyotes. His speed and playmaking should benefit the struggling offense immensely.
There has been some confusion regarding Rampage winger Petr Prucha. Two days ago, the Coyotes put Prucha on "re-entry waivers". All signs indicate that the Coyotes were hoping he would get claimed by another NHL team meaning they would only be responsible for half his salary, which is guaranteed at 1.25 Million regardless of where he plays. It was an effort to save over 600k in real dollars while possibly giving him a chance to play at the NHL level for the rest of the season. Prucha, however cleared waivers, and has been re-assigned to the Rampage. So he isn't going anywhere...for now.
I know I missed a couple of games last week and I apologize, but for those who hadn't heard, Jed Ortmeyer was released from his PTO last week before the Aeros game. He was then signed by the Aeros to a PTO and played that evening picking up the steal and assist on the game winning goal for Houston in the final minute. Pretty much status quo for Rampage fans.
The Rampage return home this weekend for two games vs. Lone Star Faceoff opponents. Saturday nights game will be telecast on FSN+ again so set those DVR's. And don't forget this time! (you know who you are)
Until then, stay safe and LET'S GO RAMPAGE!!!
