The Rampage take to home ice tonight in the 4th and final meeting of the season with the Abbotsford Heat. So far this season, the Rampage hold a 2-1 record vs. the Heat. In the last meeting, the Rampage pulled out a 4-2 win at the ATT Center on the 1st ever School Day game in January. Since the Heat joined the league last year, the Rampage have only lost one time to the Calgary AHL affiliate and are undefeated vs. the Heat on home ice.

The Rampage welcome a new addition, Dane Byers, to the lineup tonight. Byers has spent the majority of his professional career in the Rangers organization but will be joining his 3rd team this season. Earlier this year, he was traded to the Columbus organization, ironically for former Rampage forward Chad Kolarik. Byers has recorded 12 goals and 22 assists in 64 games between Connecticut and Springfield. He also has recorded 120 PIM. He is another gritty, hard nosed player with a nose for the net. The difference between him and Picard, is that Byers is more than willing to chuck the mitts. He also is very comfortable parking his rear end in front of the crease. Something the Rampage haven't had on a consistent basis in several years. He should become an instant fan favorite.Fun fact: If Byers plays in every remaining Rampage game, he will play in 85 regular season AHL games this season. This in a league that plays 80 games. That's got to be a record, right?

With Chicago's OT loss last night, the Rampage have slipped to 7th in the division. Hard to believe a team with 70 points in early March is in second to last, but that's the reality of the West Division. The good news is the Rampage have 14 of 21 remaining games at home and, with the exception of Rockford (who is out of it), have played less games than every other team in the division.

See you all tonight. Until then, LETS GO RAMPAGE!!
