Gameday Returns! Rampage vs. Chicago: Mar. 3, 2013

Before we get started, let me apologize to everyone for the lack of blog updates and gameday posts recently. I just completed the term from hell (All A's thankyouverymuch) and was working OT for the last 4 weeks of said term. With that said, I will do everything in my power to ensure it doesn't happen again. Thanks for your patience and continued support!

ATT Center
San Antonio, TX
Radio: Ticket 760

The last time the San Antonio Rampage played in front of a home crowd, the calendar had just turned to February and the ice inside the ATT Center was pink.  A full 30 days later, the Rampage return to the firendly confines to take on the Chicago Wolves on a brand new sheet of ice.

The Wolves, and former Rampage goalie Matt Climie, are coming off a 2-0 win over Texas last night in Cedar Park. Another former Rampage player, Andrew Ebbett, was recently re-assigned from Vancouver and, lined up with Rampage killer Darren Haydar, should be a handful for the Rampage defense to contain.

That Rampage defense has given up 4.5 goals per game over the last six games dragged down by a recent struggle on the PK. Over those six games, the Rampage have allowed 12 PP goals on 27 chances, dropping them from 4th overall to 14th going into tonight's game.

News & Notes:
- Both Alex Petrovic and Michael Caruso are skating in a non-contact capacity. Petrovic could be ready to go next weekend. Caruso is still "weeks" away.
- Justin Vaive is still in a cast and is out indefinitely.
- Panthers defenseman Mike Weaver left Thursday's game with a lower body injury. He'll be out a while according to Kevin Dineen, so don't expect Robak to come back any time soon.
- Panthers forward Alex Kovalev has been left off the team's trip to Raleigh and his time with the Panthers has, by all accounts, come to an end. If the Panthers decide to waive him, and he clears, he could be assigned to San Antonio. I don't expect to see him, however.

Should be another good crowd tonight in the ATT Center. First game back from the rodeo trip and it's Military Night which is usually a big attendance night. To steal a line from our goalie, lets get that place "buzzin".
