Coaching Carousel in San Antonio

Friday morning, the Florida Panthers fired head coach Kevin Dineen and his staff after a 3-9-4 start to the season. Rampage head coach Peter Horachek was named the interim coach in Florida leaving an opening on the bench in San Antonio. I caught up with Assoc. Coach and Director of Hockey Ops, Chuck Weber yesterday at practice to discuss the coaching situation and many other topics.

Obviously, things change in the sports world and not long after that chat, the Panthers announced that Tom Rowe would be taking over behind the Rampage bench and that Weber would remain in his current role.

This morning, Mike Santos and Tom Rowe addressed the media regarding the changes in the organization ahead of tonight's match up the Barons.

Notes from morning skate:
  • Shaw, Combs, Cornet, and Miskovic are your tentative scratches.
  • Howden appears to be good to go.
  • Houser gets the start in net.
  • Tyler Bunz will make his AHL debut in net tonight for the Barons.
