The Rampage head to Chicago to take on the always offensively dangerous Wolves tonight in a West Division clash. The Rampage are coming off a perfect "3 in 3" weekend after defeating the Stars in OT in Cedar Park Friday, then sweeping a 2 game set with Grand Rapids in West Michigan.
Rampage Center Andrew Ebbett paced the team with a huge weekend scoring 2 goals and adding 4 assists in the 3 games. Petr Prucha added 3 goals and Matt Beaudoin added another 3 points (1-2) to his team leading point total.
Matt Climie also continued his stellar play going 2-0 with a 1.41 GAA and a .948 Save% in his 2 games played. He pretty much won the game for the Rampage Friday night making a huge save on a SH breakaway in the 2nd, then stopping all 3 shots he saw in the shootout.
Tonight, the Rampage will have to be ready to play. They will be facing a Wolves team that has struggled at times to keep the puck out of their own net, but have won 2 straight against playoff caliber teams in Hamilton and Toronto while only allowing 2 goals over that span. Playing in Chicago is never a fun time for opposing teams either.
Adding to the stress, Defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson, who has been red hot lately, has been recalled to Phoenix leaving the Rampage a little shorthanded on the blue line pending a call up from Vegas (Ross) or a demotion from Phoenix (Yonkman).
I am hoping for a split of these last 2 road games before the team returns to the ATT Center Saturday. Anything more than 2 out of 4 points would be gravy. So, until Saturday, cheer loud and proud from your living rooms. See you at the rink and LET'S GO RAMPAGE!!!!
