After a much needed week off and some time at home in San Antonio, the Rampage head to Syracuse for the first of three games against non-division opponents. The Crunch are tied with Adirondack for the fewest points in the AHL and is the second worst team, trailing only the Phantoms, record wise. This is as close to a must win as it gets for the Rampage. With the division being so tight, and with fellow division teams all dropping games this week, this is a prime chance to make up some ground.

Rampage fans will be hearing a familiar name this weekend as the Coyotes have assigned David Schlemko to the Rampage on a conditioning stint. Schlemko is recovering from a concussion and is expected to play this weekend. In other transaction news, forward JD Watt was released from his PTO earlier this week. Watt appeared to be a victim of the numbers game as the Rampage already have several players, both here and in Vegas, that can fill his role.

The next 10 days should be very interesting for the Rampage. February 28th is the NHL trade deadline and it is still not known how active the Coyotes will be in solidifying an already playoff caliber roster. If anything, the Yotes appear to be buyers and this means that some Rampage players could potentially be on the move. Kyle Turris has been a healthy scratch for 3 of the last 4 games and Mikkel Boedker continues to struggle to get consistent ice time in head coach Dave Tippet's system. They could both be used as pieces to acquire a legit centerman or could even possibly be returned to San Antonio to further develop. Stay tuned to this blog and my twitter feed (@RampageNate) for any news.

  Until tomorrow, LETS GO RAMPAGE!!!!
