The Rampage host the Aeros in game 1 of a 3 in 3 homestand this weekend. The Rampage are coming off a special teams clinic hosted by the Peoria Rivermen last weekend. In the 5-0 loss, the Rampage went 0-9 on the power play while Peoria scored 4 of their 5 goals with the man advantage. The 5th goal coming on a delayed penalty call. The team looked disinterested, bored, and lethargic. Hopefully, the return of both Bracken Kearns from callup and Evgeny Dadonov from injury will spark something, anything, with this squad.
Defenseman Tyson Strachan is expected to miss at least 2 weeks with a lower body injury. Evan Oberg will replace him in the lineup for the weekend. Tyler Plante is expected to get his first start of the season after going 13-17-2 with a 3.12 GAA last year with Rochester. Newly signed forward Brian Sutherby is still getting his game legs and probably won't play until next weekend.
The last time these two teams squared off, the Rampage won in a record setting 11 round shootout. Angelo Esposito and Brian Foster played the heroes. Tonight, the team needs to come out with a fire in their collective bellies. They can't afford to continue the Penalty Box parade and they need to take advantage of any mistakes Houston might make, which won't be a lot.
Hope to see you all at the rink. Stay safe and stay out of my sightlines during the game...
Oh...and LETS GO RAMPAGE!!!
