The Rampage return to the ice to take on the Oklahoma City Barons in game 2 of the 2011-2012 season for both squads. I would normally take this time to talk about how these teams fared against each other in 2010. However, both teams are completely different. San Antonio due to an affiliation change. OKC due to a philosophy change. The Barons went with hired guns in year one like Alex Giroux and Colin McDonald. This season, the fosuc is on developing players in the Oilers pipeline (pardon the pun). Long time Rampage fans will recognize a couple of faces as former Rampage captain Brian Helmer and goalie David Leneveau will be in the building tonight. For the Rampage, Brian Foster is expected to get the start in net. The lineup should look similar to Friday night's game with the exception of the addition of Evgeny Dadonov (more later).

The Rampage scored a 3-2 shootout victory over the Chicago Wolves last Saturday night. Bracken Kearns opened the scoring, deflecting a Nolan Yonkman shot from the point just 27 seconds into the contest. After surrendering two goals to the Wolves, rookie forward Jonathan Hazen recorded the first goal of his pro career on an absolute snipe from between the circles beating Wolves tender Eddie Lack high over his glove. The play was set up on a nice entry into the zone from defenseman Colby Robak who slammed on the brakes and found a trailing Hazen with a nice pass and Hazen did the rest. After a scoreless 3rd period and OT, the game went to a shootout. AJ Jenks and Hazen would score on the first two attempts of the night and Brian Foster, who came into the game in relief of injured Manny Legace after the first period, would slam the door on all 4 Chicago skaters picking up his first AHL win.

News and Notes:
- Manny Legace sstained a leg injury late in the 1st period and would not come back out after the intermission. He is week to week and expected to miss 3-4 weeks.
- Evgeny Dadonov was sent to the Rampage from the Panthers. He will play tonight and wear #14.
- In corresponding moves, the Rampage sent rookie forward Anthony Luciani and veteran defenseman Keith Seabrook to ECHL Cincinnati. The roster now sits at 7 defensemen and 13 forwards, along with the 3 goalies.

Tonight is the season debut of everyone's favorite promotion, Dollar Beer Night. It's officially "Dollar DRINK Night", but we all know the largest crowds of the season don't show up for dollar diet cokes. Should be a fun atmosphere and I'm looking forward to seeing how much the guys gelled over the long week. So, I will see you all at the rink, in my normal location. Until then LETS GO RAMPAGE!!!
