Tonight, the Rampage will play in front of several thousand fans who will want nothing more than to see them fail. Playing in Rochester for the first time since the Panthers packed their bags for greener pastures, several Rampage players will head back to the arena they called home for the last several years. Rochester, now the affiliate for the Buffalo Sabres, sits just one point behind the Rampage in the 8th spot. Last night, the Americans throttled the Texas Stars, winning 9-4 behind 5 2nd period goals.
The Rampage came from behind, for the second straight game, to defeat the North Division leading Toronto Marlies 5-4 in OT. The Rampage came back from 1 goal deficits 3 times in the contest, the biggest being Keith Seabrook's huge goal with just over 2 minutes left in regulation. The Rampage would then end it in OT on the power play tally from All Star defenseman Colby Robak. The BBM line netted another 6 points last night with all three players scoring 2 points for the game. They have been one of the best lines in the AHL since being put together in early December.
The Rampage now sit just one point behind struggling Abbotsford for 3rd in the division and 6th overall in the West. Chicago is now just 2 points ahead, sitting in 5th. I'd love to see a regulation win tonight, making tomorrow's matchup with Grand Rapids a luxury.
Until tomorrow, LETS GO RAMPAGE!!
