Game #2 of the 11 game rodeo road trip will face off tonight in Toronto. The Rampage started the road trip with a come from behind 4-2 win at Hamilton on Tuesday morning. After falling behind 2-0 in the first 9 minutes on two goals by Ryan White, the Rampage clawed back to score 4 unanswered goals to get a huge 2 points. Once again, the BBM line of Bracken, Bill, and Mark did the damage combining for 5 points in the victory. Dov Grumet-Morris stopped 38 of 40 shots for his 14th win of the season.
Tonight, the Rampage face a tough test in Toronto. Led by former Rampage forward Mike Zigomanis (9th overall in scoring in the AHL) offensively and backstopped by Ben Scrivens, currently 7th in the league in GAA. The Marlies also have the best home winning record in the AHL going 13-4-2-1 in their 20 home games.
Tonight's contest is the first of a 3 in 3 in three different cities. Tomorrow, the Rampage will travel to Rochester for their first and only contest of the season in the city where most of these guys played last year. The team will then head to my home state to take on Grand Rapids on Sunday afternoon before heading home, finishing up the first of 3 legs of this trip.
If the boys can snag 4 points this weekend, I will consider it a huge win. For me, 3 is expected. Anything less, and I'll be disappointed. All 3 games are very winnable, but they are on the road and the travel can really catch up to you.
Good luck to the Rampage and here's to a solid weekend of picking up even more points in the playoff race. LETS GO RAMPAGE!!
